The Beach by Josh Verghese
Thou art the highlight of my fine summer’s day
Thou fine grains of sand fill your shore
Your sand may be white, yellow, green, or black
Thou washes and recedes and creates a swishing sound that resounds in your head
Thou waves breakes and creates a perfect form
Thou lush green palms pollinate thou shorelines
Your shore littered with people soaking up the sun like spong
Your waters scattered with surfers, bodyboarders, swimmers and snorkerlers
Your tide decides our weekend
Whether we go to the beach or stay at home
Your mystery
Your murderous habits
Your peaceful serenity

You have really good descriptions and I can picture it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI think that sonnets are supposed to have 10 syllables per line and every other line is supposed to rhyme. I'm not sure though. Oh, and your ending is a little bit confusing.
